Staff: Do not click on anti-spyware banner ads. That’s the lesson learned by Mark Russinovich of Sysinternals as he set out to track down the bad guys. One site took five minutes to download the infamous WMF Exploit, along with a host of other malware. Another detected essential Windows .dlls as spyware.
In other words, when they’re not evil, they’re stupid. Luckily, it’s pretty easy to avoid this pitfall. Check out and buy anti-spyware only on websites you know.
